Back to School WGN News!
Remember last week when Erin went on WGN News Now to share tips for the coming fashion season?
The tips were targeted towards back to school fashion but honestly they apply to everyone looking to get back to style.
Comfortable Fit
Having spent the majority of the last year in leggings or pajama pants we're finding ourselves, and our clients, drawn to items with elastic waists or stretch in the material itself. And, give them a chance, higher waisted items actually feel more comfortable that something constricting sitting lower down on the waist. Bottoms like skirts, jeans and wide leg or straight leg pants are forgiving, flattering and comfortable. These pieces are classic shapes and will pair with tees, blouses and sweaters and with the high waisted items a slightly cropped top will set you up for a stylish debut.

Intentional Layers
Gone are the days of that cardigan draped over your desk chair with holes in the elbows. We are SO excited to get the cardigan jackets pictured above in store soon. They're incredibly soft but add enough structure that they're perfect for the office.
Another thing to consider is incorporating layers into your look by buttoning your denim jacket or zipping your bomber jacket all the way up. This will add some edge to your look without going off the deep end.
Take a look at button-up shirts or shirt dresses and trying them layered under sweaters or vests. Or layer a sweater over a midi or maxi dress to turn it into a skirt and sweater look. Be playful and give yourself extra protection from Office AC!

Black and White
Classic fall colors will of course be back but Black and White will continue to be a big trend this fall. While we might not have worn a lot of white on our zoom calls because no one wants to look washed out, when we're back in real life white is clean and classic! This gingham shirt is one of our favorites for back to the office. It ticks a lot of the trend boxes while maintaining a timeless quality that will last the seasons.
Rock the Drop
Even if you are heading back home after taking the kids to school take the extra minute in the morning to put together an outfit. Or do it the night before to make it that much easier. Comfort, intentional layers and black and white are simple principles to follow. Just adding a denim jacket or popping on a dress instead of leggings can add a level of polish to your presence that others will notice.
